Andy Asbury, Minnesota REALTOR®

Andy Asbury

The third generation of Asburys to help others buy and sell their homes, Andy continuously looks to the past while considering the future in an effort to better serve his clients. With a father, mother and grandmother all intimately involved in the industry, Andy has had the good luck to call on a wealth of knowledge while building Lakes | Sotheby's International Realty.

A graduate of the University of Minnesota at Duluth, Andy quickly found a niche in the building of websites and creating award-winning marketing materials for local businesses. But it wasn't long before the family trade drew him back, and so he and his wife DeAnna returned to the Twin Cities.

Utilizing his extensive experience and skills, Andy was able to assist his family's business, TAG Mortgage, while working with clients to obtain loans with which to buy their new homes.

In 2004, Andy became a full time REALTOR and began to use his unique marketing and communication skills to great effect. Marketing new condominium developments like 1800 Clinton, Phoenix on 3rd Avenue, and 3rd Avenue Place allowed Andy to gain an in-depth understanding of the urban market.

In 2011 Andy and his father Jim decided to open up their own brokerage. By focusing on the same values that made the family business so successful, they have been able to steadily grow each year, while still maintaining the same level of care for each client.



Leslie Bruns, Lofts and Condos REALTOR®

Before she became a real estate agent, Leslie Bruns spent a decade as a teacher. She has a strong desire to help people, a knack for listening, and an uncanny ability to understand exactly what they need – qualities that served her well in the world of education and from which her clients now benefit. A certified life coach, Leslie strives to build lasting relationships with her clients so they never again wonder which agent they’ll turn to for their real estate needs. She comes from a long line of interior designers, loves to explore condos, lofts and townhomes throughout the Twin Cities, and prides herself on ensuring her clients have fantastic memories of making the biggest decisions of their lives. 

In her spare time, Leslie enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter, traveling and learning new languages, and immersing herself in her community.


Wendy Miller, Lofts and Condos REALTOR®

Without a doubt, Wendy Miller has the best voice on the lofts and condos team. And she should, given she spends many weekend evenings behind the microphone with her band Jukebox Junkies. In the real estate world, Wendy’s clients sing her praises for being a patient agent who takes whatever time is necessary to ensure the home-buying or selling process is at once comfortable and successful. During her nearly two-decade real estate career, Wendy has worked in both Minnesota and Florida and developed deep relationships with people from throughout the industry, including contractors, lenders and more. Her clients benefit from her experience in all parts of the loft and condo buying and selling process.

When she’s not helping clients or playing music, Wendy spends as much time as can she can out of doors, pedaling her bike or running the trails.


Blake Pieper, Marketing

Between computers, tablets and other devices, Blake Pieper owns more types of electronics than he cares to admit. But when you love something, you love something – and Blake loves technology. Which is a good thing because both personally and professionally, technology is a big part of his life. By day, Blake handles our digital marketing efforts with a primary focus on our website and ensuring it provides all the information and seamless experience our agents and clients need as they buy and sell properties. In his spare time, Blake’s an avid musician. He plays acoustic, bass and electronic guitars, as well as the keyboard, and puts his digital savvy to use producing primarily Indie and pop music.

Blake graduated with a degree in marketing from the University of Minnesota.


Jim Asbury, CRS, GRI, SRES, Broker

As co-owner of Lakes | Sotheby's International Realty, Jim has been able to lend his 30 years' worth of experience to building a brand that will stand the test of time. Having been in the real estate field for more than three decades, Jim has learned the methods and values that allow us to represent our clients with unparalleled honesty and which produce uncommon results.

One of the Twin City's most experienced and successful agents, Jim has sold more than one thousand homes in addition to the countless families for whom he has found the perfect new home. His abilities are evident in that over 90% of Jim's business has come via referrals from satisfied clients.

Always forward thinking, Jim continues to strive for the best service possible. This innovative approach led Jim to develop the first computer-automated appointment scheduling service, which is still the standard in the real estate field. More recently, Jim has been successful in first identifying and then promoting an iPhone and Android App allowing clients to quickly and efficiently obtain information about a property when they are on the go.

Together with his son Andy, Jim relishes the chance to build and form a brokerage molded in their values. The desire to continually create and enhance technological capabilities while never sacrificing person-to-person connections are what set Jim apart, and Lakes | Sotheby's International Realty is no different.

Born and raised in Minnesota, Tony moved to Minneapolis from a small town in 2001.  It was here, that his love for architecture and new construction grew.  Tony attended Minneapolis Community and Technical College and later went on to become an electrician.  As an electrician, Tony gained extensive knowledge about the construction process.   

Tony’s electrical experience allowed him to be on site during many new builds and property remodels. This further fostered his interest in the housing market.  This interest transformed from helping build homes to selling them.  So, in 2007, he made the jump and obtained his license to sell real estate.  Tony’s past experience in the construction field gave him a special set of skills related to a home’s craftsmanship that he uses daily as an agent; but his social personality and motivation to work with people is what sets him apart from the rest.
Since becoming a real estate agent , Tony has been involved in millions of dollars’ worth of transactions and has experience working with clients in all different markets, including; lofts and condos, single family homes, and multi-family homes.  Tony has also worked with many investors and been a part of the rehab process on multiple occasions over the years.  His expertise in the housing market, in addition to his understanding of the current condo market, makes Tony a unique asset to the Better Homes and Gardens team of realtors. 

Currently, Tony lives in South Minneapolis with his wife and their dog.  In his free time Tony enjoys staying active in the outdoors and loves to camp, fish, hike and especially golf during Minnesota’s beautiful summers.  



                          Amy Haugen, Lofts and Condos REALTOR®

amyhaugen1_280Amy was born in St. Paul, and has lived her entire life in the Twin Cities area. She has been married to her husband Stan for 32 years, has two grown daughters, and one talented son-in-law—who happens to be Andy Asbury!

Since joining Andy and his father Jim, Amy has helped them work on several new construction condominium developments. This experience gave her unique insight into both sides of a condo transaction, as well as experience working with condo associations. Amy now shares this wealth of knowledge with her clients.

Amy is very proud to be working with her son-in-law Andy and his father, who has over 30 years as a REALTOR® in the Twin Cities area. 



Eric Solberg, Urban Lofts and Condos REALTOR®

Eric Solberg

Ask Eric Solberg about his hobbies, and he’ll name a bunch of things that scream Minnesota, including following Wild hockey, playing golf and spending time on the boat. He doesn’t mention riding roller coasters, and it’s entirely possible the reason for that is because he’s ridden a roller coaster since his real estate career began in 2009. At the time, the market was highly distressed as a result of the financial crisis. Since then, there have been times it’s been highly favorable to sellers, times buyers have had a distinct advantage, and times when it’s been in between. Through it all, Eric has adapted to each market and gained experience well beyond his years, offering his clients a steady hand, broad perspective, and an attention to detail that provides them everything they need to make well-informed decisions.

Eric, who worked in marketing before becoming a full-time Realtor, grew up in Apple Valley and has lived in communities throughout the Twin Cities, including for six years in a condo in South Minneapolis. He helps people buy and sell real estate throughout the area (he’s sold property in 26 cities in the Twin Cities), and is an expert when it comes to lofts and condos. His intimate knowledge not only of the individual units within loft and condo buildings, but also of the properties themselves and the areas that surround them, helps buyers and sellers navigate the process and make the best decision for themselves.

Kris loves Minneapolis because he is able to enjoy all of his favorite activities. In the summer, you can find him swimming in Lake Calhoun, touring the Sculpture Garden or relaxing on the patio of Stella's in uptown. And in the winter you will find Kris snow-shoeing, skiing, or snowboarding.



Ingrid Friel, Lofts and Condos REALTOR®



Ingrid came to us after a long and successful career in market research. Ingrid has spent the majority of her life here in the Twin Cities. She, her husband and twin girls call Eden Prairie home.  Ingrid grew up in nearby Bloomington which has allowed her to gain a unique perspective on the growth and changes that have characterized the Twin Cities over recent years.

Educated first at Marquette University and then earning her MBA the Univ of St Thomas, Ingrid has shown an aptitude for learning both in and out of the classroom. Ask Tylor Johnson, who grew up in Delano, why he returned to Minnesota after living for a time in California and the answer is immediate: This is home.
