Velo: Open for Business (And Bicycling)
Condo Living, Local Perspectives, Rental Buzz
The North Loop’s Velo apartments are open for business, folks. Billing itself as “balanced, urban living,” Velo (French for bicycle) brings 101 luxury urban homes in studio, 1 and 2-bedroom layouts to the booming North Loop.Six stories tall and located just across the also-new Whole Foods off of Hennepin Avenue, this 12,000 square foot development is attempting to meld bicycle friendly design with the best of urban living. Offering bike storage for every resident, a repair room with specialty tools and close proximity to countless trails and bike-toable destinations, it’s an aggressive (and, for the Twin Cities, novel) approach to the marketing urban living. It seems like every new building these days is focused on offering newer and better amenities, and Velo is no exception this rule. A bocce ball court, fire pit, yoga studio and something they refer to as a “fitness garden” are a few of their offerings. Velo’s amenities are rivaled only by its frankly unbeatable location. Perched on the southwest corner of First Avenue and 2nd Street, kitty-corner from the recently opened Whole Foods and 222 Hennepin apartments, Velo is in the midst of Minneapolis’ most exciting neighborhood.
