More Color to the Riverfront!
I'll admit at first I thought the new 35W Bridge was a little boring in design when I saw the 3D models the local news channels were touting. Now that it is up, well I'm a big fan. As of recently they have been lighting up a blue band that spans the entire length of the river on both sides. What a sight! I think it really plays off the energy of the riverfront condos and the new Guthrie theater.

Also I heard that it is the first "Green" bridge largely in part by their use of LED lighting which I find to be a refreshing crisp light and a great change of pace from the energy hogging yellow incandescent lights. One of the best features in my mind is the lack of an enclosed side rail. Traveling southbound you can really see the Mill District and the riverfront condos, like the Zenith, The Bridgewater, The Whitney, Washburn Lofts and the North Star Lofts in a panoramic view. If you happen to be driving South over the bridge and your car breaks down on the bridge please snap some photos while you're waiting for the tow truck! I'd love to see them.
