CALHOUN AMBASSADOR 2928 Dean Parkway, Minneapolis Built in 1960, the Ambassador is by now a period piece of postwar design. Units are quite small, less than 700 square feet in floor area, but unit prices are a fraction of some of its upscale neighbors, especially remarkable given that the living units come with enclosed under-building parking and balconies. In addition to the cachet of a Dean Parkway address, the location is superb: just two blocks from the boutique retail and Whole Foods near the intersection of Lake and Excelsior; and a mile from Uptown. Frequent bus service is a half-block away; residents can also drive almost all the way to Downtown on parkways.
