That accounts for the boulevard designation, and its unexpected grandness of scale for a manufacturing district. Even today, more than a century after the Grand Rounds' proposal in 1891, people still talk about completing the Grand Rounds through Northeast Minneapolis. C/W Lofts is a 2007 residential conversion of one of the district's grandest, most monumental industrial structures, originally the headquarters and plant of the Cream of Wheat company.
