M FLATS 29th and University Avenue SE Like the earlier U Flats, three blocks to the west, this brand new, 44-unit condo exists—in market niche and in location—for the University. The concept is easy to understand: why pay rent when attending college, which you could be building equity? While apples-to-apples comparisons among University-area housing choices are always difficult, M Flats is certainly a plausible alternative for some students. This is a central location, on the edge of campus, with good bus service to downtown Minneapolis and St. Paul, and just a few blocks from freeways.
