Ivy Hotel + Residence

IVY TOWER HOTEL AND RESIDENCE 1115 Second Avenue South, Minneapolis Ivy Tower is a diminutive spire built in 1930. Endearing in its quirkiness, the tiny floor plates were inefficient as office space, and so the building languished for decades, always in danger of demolition. Enter, recently, the Starwood Corporation. Employing Ivy Tower as the "signature expression" of a new multi-use development, Starwood is adding a tall tower with 88 luxury residences, and a shorter 136-room hotel as part of its Luxury Collection, made up of historic structures. The residences range in size from about 900 to over 3,100 square feet in floor area, seemingly with all possible amenities. The hotel-residence complex is connected to the rest of Downtown by skyway, and offers a "resort-quality" spa and wellness center, boutique retail, and a "destination restaurant." It is probably superfluous to mention that Orchestra Hall is a block away.
