Plymouth

Plymouth

More than 100 years ago, tourists flocked to the resorts built upon the shores of the 925-acre Medicine Lake in Plymouth, which is an easy 12-mile commute from Minneapolis. While the resorts have been replaced and the city isn’t the tourist attraction it once was, Medicine Lake remains one of its hallmarks. The city has been named by Money magazine as the top city in the United States in which to live, and there are plenty of reasons for that: An abundance of parks and green space (including the Clifton E. French Regional Park), easy access (Interstate 494 and Highway 55 run through the city, while Highway 169 constitutes its eastern border), and a strong local economy (especially in sectors related to health and medical devices). With a population of more than 77,000 people, Plymouth is the seventh largest city in Minnesota.
