St-paul

Upper Landing

Upper Landing is a new neighborhood in St. Paul – transformation of the former metal scrapyard along the Mississippi River began in 1997 – that covers about seven blocks and offers riverside housing. The water is a major feature of the neighborhood, which reintegrates the river withy St. Paul’s downtown core. There are a wide variety of housing options within Upper Landing as well as a beautiful park and plaza – Upper Landing Park and Chestnut Plaza, respectively – that include riverside walking trails, a fountain and sculptures. While relatively small in size, developers, the city and neighborhood groups have done an excellent job of creating a vibrant and aesthetically pleasing area that not only highlights the river and its natural elements, but that incorporates them into the neighborhood.
