The 58-unit Winslow House was a pioneer in two ways. One is its early date, opening in 1980. The other is that it is serious architecture, designed by a national figure, Benjamin Thompson, who happened to grow up in St. Paul. Just before and after this project, Thompson was designing the famous Rouse Company festival marketplaces in Boston, Baltimore, and Miami.
